~Featured Study “The Tithe is Abolished!” Listen to this Study this Thursday on www.blogtalkradio.com/jesusandwe @7:00p.m. (est) ~

The tithe is a subject that is very dear to most church leaders. Those denominations that can get their members to actually bring in a full 10% of gross income can create very powerful forces far beyond their strength in numbers. The leading “tithing” sects according to an article in Christian Ministry, are interestingly what Evangelicals would term “cults.” The Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and the World Wide Church of God are the leading givers. The fourth is the Assemblies of God. According to Newsweek, most church members give far less than 10%, most giving under 2%. Not surprising is the fact that the poor give a far greater portion of their income than the rich. USA Today (Oct. 25, 1990) tells us that families earning less than $10,000 give 5.5% of their income to charity (not necessarily to church). Families earning between $50,000 and $60,000 give only 1.7% of their earnings. (While the article in Christian Ministry lists the Jehovah’s Witneses among leading tithing denominations, I’ve since been informed by that organization that Jehovah’s Witnesses do not practice tithing.)

We hope to show in this article that while many church fund-raising organizations and Christian financial counseling ministries tell us that not paying “the tithe” is robbing God, the actual Biblical facts are that those who put the tithe upon Christians are, in fact, the ones who are “robbing God.” As we go through this article, keep in mind the above statistic that the poor far out-give the rich.

“Who are the Elect, am I one, and why did He pick me?” Listen to this Study this Thursday on www.blogtalkradio.com/jesusandwe @7:00p.m. (est) ~ Part 2

This week I will speak on God’s Election. Below are five questions, answered from the Word of God, answers to things pertaining specifically to God’s Elect. They should be a comfort, a clarification, and a reassurance to any whom are of God’s Election. May God continue to bless our understanding and strengthen our resolve, bestow upon us all manner of spiritual gifts as determined by the Holy Spirit, and protect us; In the Precious name of Jesus Christ; God’s Savior, The Anointed One.

#1) Who are the Elect, am I one, and why did He pick me?

#2) What are my duties and responsibilities as one of God’s Election?

#3) If I am to be one of the instruments through which God will defeat satan, won’t satan target me for attack? Satan is supernatural, should I fear?

#4) Why don’t feel I like I’m doing anything? Am I being useful to the Father? How come the seeds that I plant do not seem to sprout?

#5) How can I be sure that I will not falter in the end times, and especially if and when I am delivered up to the synagogues of satan?

“I Can Bless God?” How? Listen to this Study this Thursday on www.blogtalkradio.com/jesusandwe @7:00p.m. (est) ~

As a child of God I so often pray for God to bless me and I so often tell others how God has blessed me. As I was reading in the book of Psalms a verse seemed to leap off of the page, “O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:” (Psalm 66:8). And then a question filled my heart: How often do I think about blessing God? I always want to praise God for His goodness and provision but I don’t think I have ever thought of my doing so as a blessing to God.

How can I bless God?

Psalm 66
Vs. 1 “….Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
Vs. 2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
Vs. 3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
Vs. 4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.
Vs. 5 Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
Vs. 6 He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
Vs. 7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
Vs. 8 O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
Vs. 9 Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
Vs. 10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

“A HEAVENLY REPUTATION” Listen to this Study this Thursday on www.blogtalkradio.com/jesusandwe @7:00p.m. (est) ~

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

The usual opinion of blessings and being blest is that gifts are given. But in looking thru the concordances and lexicon we were unable to find that meaning attached to the words. Blessed (be) God. This is another way of saying Praise God. The word blessed is a verbal adjective and is never used of man, but always of God. It means to speak well of, to praise. Then the desire of the apostle is that God should be well spoken of, or praised in His creation. But such a state of affairs does not exist. In the heavens is one who is a slanderer. He came down to earth and told that which was not true about God to our first parents. And he has tried in every way to defame the name of God and to misrepresent His person since that time. He has a great following of angels to assist him in these efforts. And on the earth are plenty of men who will follow this example and from day to day they think only evil and curse God. But a time is coming when all such mouths will be stopped, in both heaven and earth and there will not be one left but those who honor and adore Him. So we, with the apostle, should pray for the day to come in which God again will be praised and glorified.

Who hath blessed us. This is another form of the same verb and is used of men. He has then spoken well of us. Where? In the heavenly places. But we must hesitate here. There is something we could overlook. We are praised or spoken well of in Christ. Just as we are accepted in Him, so we are spoken well of in Him. But He is the one that was accepted and praised. We must not forget that for a moment. All good things are in Christ.

Now this knowledge that we are spoken well of in heavenly places helps to explain what is said in 3:10, To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God. These beings in the heavenlies have heard about us, they have heard good about us, but only as we are in Christ, and it all tells of the manifold wisdom of God.

With all spiritual blessings. Or it might read, with every blessing that is spiritual. Now blessings also come from the same root and means good words about us. But these good things that are told about us are all spiritual. They are in the realm of the spirit. They do not include the diamonds and automobiles that we may own down here, but what we are in Christ. We are accepted in Him, seated with Him, joint-heirs with Him, and the like. These statements are spiritual blessings.
Now you can go thru Ephesians and read of all the good things we are and have in Christ. Count your blessings. May God be praised in all creation for His speaking well of us in the heavenlies in and thru and with His Son, our blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Blest with every blessing that is spiritual. These blessings are in Christ. That is why that they are spiritual. Outside of Him nothing is spiritual. Let us examine 12 blessings mentioned:

1. Chosen in Him before the overthrow. The church is the object mentioned here. Since it has a great election, it is evident that the members are then a part of the election. This was in the plan of God before the ages began, before the overthrow.

2. Adoption or placing as sons. No more are children spoken of. Adoption means coming to age. Those who have life become mature and are placed in the body, the church.

3. Accepted in the Beloved. This means that the members are highly favored. The word is used here and where Mary was said to be highly favored. Being in Christ gives this acceptance and favor.
4. Redeemed. Bought back. The price, His blood. Includes the forgiveness of sins. These are terms used in the market place, especially of slaves. Delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son.

5. Trespasses wiped out, the slate clean. Only the blood of Christ can make garments as white as snow. This is a universal cleaner.
